We work upstream to design out waste & reduce impact.
Better systems. Better materials. Better design. Better communication.
Velzy is a multi-award winning consultancy working with organisations and industry to drive change across Scope 3 Emissions, Operations, Materials, Packaging and Waste.
We identify impact at its source and create practical systems and solutions across the value chain.
From strategy and stakeholder engagement to material innovation and implementation, we help organisations create better outcomes for people, our oceans and the environment.
We work upstream to design out waste and create better outcomes.

OUR WORK *
Who is Velzy?
Velzy is led by Melissa Strang, a multi-award winning sustainability strategist, designer, ESG packaging engineer, material innovator and founder of Velzy and We are Salty.
Melissa leads Salty and Velzy as an independent Mother of four, twins plus two. She is an ocean athlete, awarded New Zealand National surfing Champion and Longboard bronze medalist. Melissa is driven to succeed and drive change for the good of our oceans, environment and human health.
Working at the intersection of materials, packaging, waste and supply chains, Melissa specialises in identifying where impact can be designed out before it becomes waste. Her work combines strategy, stakeholder engagement and material innovation with practical trials and real-world implementation.
For more than a decade, Melissa has worked alongside industry to challenge conventional material systems and develop practical solutions that deliver better outcomes for business, people and the environment.
WE DESIGN
OUT WASTE.
STRATEGY · SYSTEMS · MATERIALS · PACKAGING · PEOPLE · CHANGE
We work upstream to turn off the plastic tap, drive change and reduce waste.
“We bring together strategy, materials, manufacturing, packaging and people to create practical change, delivering better outcomes for the health of communities, our oceans and environment.”
LEGISLATION TO IMPLEMENTATION
We manage impact across Scope 3, EPR, PPWR and the entire global value chain.
Materials, packaging, manufacturing, transport, product loss and end-of-life all contribute to Scope 3 emissions and are increasingly affected by Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), PPWR and changing global packaging and waste legislation.
Velzy helps organisations understand where their impact sits, what needs to change, and how to make that change happen.
We work across the value chain to:
Map and audit material, packaging and waste flows
Identify Scope 3 impacts and regulatory exposure
Navigate EPR, PPWR and evolving packaging legislation
Develop practical reduction and circularity strategies
Engage suppliers, manufacturers and industry stakeholders
Trial and validate alternative materials, packaging and systems
Implement solutions within real-world operations and supply chains
Measure material reduction, waste diversion and environmental outcomes
Our approach connects strategy with implementation.
Meaningful change isn't achieved through reporting alone. It happens when better materials, better systems and better decisions are successfully implemented across the value chain.
Understand the impact. Identify the opportunity. Trial the solution. Implement the change. Measure the outcome.
